Brokerage

As competitive brokers, we focus our activities on arranging customized solutions for project, break-bulk and heavy lift cargo not covered by the trade routes of our affiliated companies.

We act as independent brokers for international cargo and carrier interests always with the object in mind to find the perfect match of feasibility and cost efficiency.

Challenging inquiries demand careful analysis of the requirements on both sides. In order to find the right answers, we maintain excellent, time-tested contacts to international shippers, charterers and forwarders on the one hand and to carriers and shipowners specialized in abnormal loads on the other.

Too long, too high, too heavy is not an obstacle to us. We find the tonnage to suit your cargo and the cargo to suit your tonnage.

Port Agency

American Shipping and Chartering was established in 1980 in Houston and we expanded in 2010 with our own office in Mobile. Other North American ports are being serviced through our network of well established sub-agents who attend to the vessels and the local requirements while the overall responsibility for vessel operations remains with the Houston office. Experience, reliability and extensive knowledge of port and stevedoring operations in all major U.S., Canadian as well as Mexican ports made our agency department the preferred choice of many ship owners and operators, in the capacity of both local and General Agents.

We have excellent relations with Port and Government Authorities, Terminal Operators, stevedores and a host of other vendors. This enables us to offer our Principals and clients not only first class service and quickest possible turnaround times but also the most economical services available.

American Shipping and Chartering on average handles over 250 port calls annually, each of which is attended to with utmost care and the unique personal attention our Principals and their crews deserve.

Oil & Gas

Specializing in the Offshore Exploration, Production, Installation and Construction Industries (EPIC), the Oil and Gas Services division supports activities related to vessel and rig operations in the Gulf of Mexico in USA ports and Mexico ports.  American Shipping and Chartering offers seamless agency support in the US Gulf of Mexico from Ciudad del Carmen, Mexico around to Pensacola, Florida. Regardless of the port of mobilization or the project location in the US Gulf - clients can have the benefit of one agent across the region for the duration of their activity.

Logistics

Logistics is generally the detailed organization and implementation of a complex operation. In a general business sense, logistics is the management of the flow of things between the point of origin and the point of consumption in order to meet requirements of customers or corporations.

American Shipping and Chartering’s logistics team and our global agency network can assist with movement of cargo from origin or to final destination using multiple modes of transportation (trucks, barges, etc.).  Your cargo will be delivered to destination without worry and with one vendor.
